Hello!

My name is Karina, and I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, beginning when I was in high school. I have always been passionate about English, Literature, History, and Languages, which helped me consistently do well in my AP English classes throughout high school and my Political Science classes in university. During my Freshman year of high school, I helped the kids I babysat (ages ranging 4-11) with understanding difficult topics and homework questions in Spanish, Mathematics, and English.

I expanded on my tutoring skills in my Junior year of high school when I became speech and debate captain. I proofread speeches and gave feedback when students would practice presenting their material before county competitions where I would consistently place in the top 5. In university, I was the president and co-founder of a club that focused on helping students learn helpful study techniques and was in charge of assisting anybody struggling with essay writing during our study sessions.

I also became a certified tutor through Varsity Tutors where I have maintained a 5- star rating for the past 4 years, predominantly tutoring in SAT, ACT, English, and Essay Writing. I offer both virtual and in-person lessons around San Diego County so please specify which one you prefer when booking your appointment!

I look forward to talking with you and please email if you have any questions!
